This is a handy hot water bag that I came across by chance in the back alleys of Xiamen, China.
The material is cliff oak, pronounced yabai or gaihaku.
(The Chinese pronunciation is "Yabai").
It can be held in the palm of your hand.
Cliff oak is a very hard material so it will not scratch your hands when you hold it.
This wood is the rarest of the cypress family.
Furthermore, it literally grows naturally on cliffs, making it difficult to cut down.
There is a sweet camphor scent in the air.
