This dragon is based on the motif of the "Twelve Picture Scrolls," a picture scroll created during the Kamakura period. The color of the paint allows the grain of the camphor wood to subtly emerge. The auspicious red and white design blends well with the vibrant color of the costume. This is a wooden dragon carved in vibrant colors that bring out the wood color, which can often be dull.
